Jump Rope For Heart
Thanks to friends and family, Charlie was able to raise $350 for JR4H. This happened to be the 2nd largest amount of all the 1st thru 6th graders at Anser. The jumping took place in P.E. where his P.E. teacher Alyssa Munch had lots of jump rope activities for the kids to participate in. After the jumping, kids enjoyed TCBY sundaes. For Charlie's accomplishment he earned at least $20 worth of schwag (water bottles, tee-shirts, book marks, plastic rockets, etc) and a really cool trip to Saint Alphonsus RMC CVICU with 10 school mates. Since Charlie earned the second most, he had the opportunity to be hooked up to monitors, but declined (out of embarrassment and fear). We also got to see a video of a catheter being placed into a heart through a blockage and the subsequent profusion of blood to the right spots...that was really cool. Thank you to everyone who helped Charlie raise money. He was pretty proud of himself and we're very proud of him too. BTW, the pillows came from the tour of the CVICU.
