Cole ditched the training wheels. Last week we had an hour of intensive training at Elm Grove Park. This is also where Charlie learned how to ride bike. It's the perfect place to learn because it has a long, straight, flat, three-foot-wide sidewalk with soft grass on either side. Cole did a little over ten laps on the 100ish yard sidewalk. On the fifth-ish run I started to let go. Cole went about five yards, then added five yards every go. By the end of the hour my baby could ride about 20 yards. Yesterday Cole rode his bike sans trainers for the second time. After one lap around the 1/8 mile dirt loop, he was able to ride around three more times by himself. He even dismounts gracefully. Now we just have to work on the take-off. What a quicker learner! Can't wait for summer family bike rides. Good job Buggy!
