March 23, 2008-Easter: A blogger is born

Day 1 in the blogging world...it happens to be Easter (symbolic or coincidental? hmm). Hopefully this will be a good avenue for journaling the craziness in the Taylor household. People are always telling me to "write that down" re: funny things the boys say/do, so here's an attempt to memoir life with 3 boys.

Alarm went off at 6am for morning run (did not go). Charlie was already in bed with us, as usual. Typically, he wakes up around 3am, tries to sneak in bed with us, is rejected, then returns around 6am. Cole slept in until 6:45 when I heard him yelling from his bed "mama, I have to go potty." I love that I have 2 potty-trained boys!

I got up at 7am, organized the kitchen for our big Easter party, then went to the backyard and hid 212 eggs. It only took about 1/2 hour. The boys slept through the whole thing. When I was nearly finished, they came out to show me what the Easter Bunny brought them: A twin-spotted rattler for Charlie and a yellow-lipped sea snake for Cole, the Runny Babbit by Shel Silverstein and a marshmellow-filled chocolate bunny for each. The bunny did not bring any other candy as s/he knew that there was much to be had from the hunt. I think I'll adopt the minimalist E.basket.

Party was fun. The weather cooperated-it was about 50 degrees and cloudy . We had 16 kids and their parents, delicious pastries, coffee, Mexican hot chocolate, mimosas, and beer-mosas. The egg hunt was very egg-citing and I look forward to having the "2nd Annual Taylor Easter Party". We plan to have dinner with Ritchie's, Ellis', and Lisa/Brett at the Ritchie Ranch.
