"I'm just so excited about the Friendship Feast that I can't sleep," said Cole the night before the party. The kindergartners spent two weeks preparing for the feast. They learned "This Land Is Your Land" in its entirety, made placements, collected soup ingredients and made the soup, discussed what they were thankful for, set up and decorated the classroom and even made butter from scratch. Cole says that "you just put heavy cream in a jar with a marble and shake it for about ten hours." I think after all the preparations they made, the kiddos could be very proficient party planners. When the parents arrived, the kids shared what they were thankful for, sang their song, and sat down for the feast. We all had a great time. Cole was thankful for friendship. I'm thankful for Cole!
