Merry Christmas 2009!

6:30 am--Charlie enters our bed. "Mom, my bones are aching because they don't want to hold still waiting to open presents." Cole slept in until 7:00--so lazy;) Cole and Charlie both admitted to hearing Santa last night as well as seeing him peek in on them. All presents were opened by 8:00. It was a lovely, yet quiet-ish Christmas day. Sadly, we couldn't spend it with extended family this year because I had to work. Even so, we managed to have an action-packed day. After presents came breakfast, then a crisp winter walk, then lunch. We decided to hit the matinee showing of Alvin and The Chipmunks-The Squeakuel. The theater was packed, we got to sit in the second row. The movie was incredibly stupid with a message that brotherly love will eventually prevail, even if you're mean. There were other messages too, I'm sure, but the bullying and stupid actions really stood out. The boys loved the movie. In their defense, it was silly. In discussion after the movie, we agreed that you shouldn't be mean to people. This Christmas we were grateful for each others' love, that we live in a safe place, we have the means to stay warm, we always have food on the table, and that we are were together as a family.
