Buttermilk blueberry bran muffins

I love to take a good base recipe and modify it to suit my liking. These muffins taste delicious and I don't feel too bad when I eat 14 of them at once:) The kids love them too...which is always a bonus.

* 1 cup wheat bran
* 1 cup bran cereal
* 2/3 cup wheat germ
* 1 1/3 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
* 2/3 cup whole wheat flour
* 2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 2 1/2 cups low-fat buttermilk (I always buy the powdered)
* 1/2 cup unbleached cane sugar
* 1/2 cup sucanut (or brown sugar)
* 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
* 2 large eggs
* 1/2 cup + 1 tablespoon flax meal
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 1-ish cup blueberries (I always use frozen Wyman's Wild berries, when I don't have fresh)

Spray muffin tins or line with papers. Bake at 350 degrees for 20ish minutes. Makes about 2 dozen muffins.
