We're so fortunate that John's parents live within a few hours of our house. Ann and Doug arrived Wednesday night in time for a birthday bash. I made a delicious pistachio encrusted rack-o-lamb recipe from Cooking Light , garlic mashed potatoes, glazed onions, and fresh tomatoes from the garden. Ann provided the carrot cake dessert, which was divine. Thursday, John and I had to work. Doug golfed on a course in our neighborhood, which is apparently very hilly. Ann ran errands, then picked up the boys from school and whisked them off to the zoo (along with John's cousin Ann Margaret-shown in picture). Later that evening, the adults went to the Idaho Shakespeare Festival to see Into the Woods, a fractured fairy tale with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondeheim. The performance was very enjoyable. We had a great visit and look forward to seeing the G-parents again soon. Happy Birthday Doug!
