We frequently marvel over Charlie's enormous capacity for intelligent thought and schmoozing, while Cole's strengths include his genuine sweetness and snuggliness. Both boys have vocabularies beyond their years. Today, Charlie wanted to call his friend Silva on the phone. He got the phone and asked for the number. When I told him, Cole immediately said "no Mom, our phone number is 336-8274." I was shocked. That boy has been paying attention during his past 3 years and 1 month! Charlie doesn't quite have our phone number straight yet. Cole's next profound statement was "Why are girl tigers pink?"
A little later in the day, Charlie was trying to call Silva again. After 4 attempts with busy signals, Charlie gently threw the phone onto the grass and said, "Damn it, the phone's busy again."
